This Post is for those who are Not Indian but do have little knowledge of Indian cinema and are interested in knowing about it. For die hard Bollywood fans, stop reading here and skip to next post

Bollywood has given a number of all time hits, but if I have to pick the best 5, I will list in following order (Actually they are my favorite movies and not the best of Bollywood, after all the list don't have MotherIndia). 
- Sholay
- Mera Naam Jokar
- Anand
- Hum dil de chuke sanam
- Mohabbatein
Sholay - Produced by G.P. Sippy and directed by Ramesh Sippy, released in 1975. The movie has lots of comedy, action and drama. The dialogues of the movie is still alive till date and it gave birth to a villain character called Gabbar Singh and the popular dialogues like “Kitne aadmee the” and “ab tera kya hoga re kaliyah?”
Sholay is the story of a police inspector (Thakur), who arrests a dacoit (Gabbar Singh)and afterwards the dacoit quits Jail and kills his family members to take the revenge. Later on he cuts Thakur’s hand and then Thakur hires two thiefs (Jay and Biru both were great friends) to confront the dacoit and then begins the war to catch and kill Gabbar Singh. They finally do so but one of the friend dies as well at the end.
Mera Naam Joker:
This is a great movie to watch. The movie was released in 1975, directed by Raj kapoor who is also in the lead role. The story of the film is about a boy called Raju, who want to become a Joker I circus and wish to make the whole world laugh with his jokes and performances. It also shows the childhood crush, the youthful love, and the middle aged craving. The main thing to notice in this movie is how a joker tries to make all of us laugh, even if he is not happy and his heart is in deep pain. There were some ever green hit songs by Mukesh in the movie like “Kehta hai jokar sara jamana..” and “jane kahan gaye wo din”
Anand - This movie was released in 1970, and is one of the best movie to watch out. The story of the movie is about a brave man who is a cancer patient and even if he knows he is going to die soon, he wishes to live his life. He comes to the hospital for treatment, but he hates hospital and medicines and wants to enjoy the remaining days of his life. He is use to speak a lot and could make friendship with any one. Doctor Bhaskar (Baboo moshai as Anand calls him) who is treating Anand could not believe how Anand manages to keep every one happy.
The movie has some great emotional scenes and some great hit songs like “maine tere liye hi saat range ke sapne chune”. Doctor Bhaskar feels so bad that he cannot do anything for Anand and he will die soon.
Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam - Released in 1999, directed by Sanjay Lela Vansaali, who directed Black and Devdas. The Movie is about a easy going guy from Italy(Sameer), who comes to India to learn Classical singing, and felt in love with daughter (Nandini) of his music Guru (Pandit Darbar). In a wedding function another boy (Dewraj) falls in love with Nandini and both family agrees for their marriage. When Pandit Darbar came to know about the love of Nandini and Sameer, he asked Sameer to return to Italy and forcefully asked her daughter to get married with Dewraj. After marriage Dewraj came to know about Nandini’s first love and he promises Nandini that he will find Sameer and they goes to Italy. Finally Nandini and Dewraj meets Sameer but Nandini comes back to Dewraj again. There are lost of emotional scenes and some great songs that touch the soul.
Mohabbatein - Mohabbatein is Yash Chopra’s Film, directed by Aditya Chopra. Like other movies of Yas Chopra, Mohabbatein also has some great songs. The Story is about a highly strict and disciplined man Narayan Shankar (Amitabh Bachchan) who is the head of boarding institutions called Gurukul. He has his own rules and don’t allow any one to break rules. Three friends of Gurukul Vicky (Uday Chopra), Sameer (Jugal Hansraj) and karan (Jimmy Shergill) fall in love with girls outside the Gurukul. Then comes a music teacher, Raj Aryan (Shahrukh Khan) who helps these boys to go out and meet those girls. Raj Aryan believes in the power of love and that’s the reason of fight between Narayn Shankar and Raj Aryan. Raj Aryan is an ex-student who was sacked by Narayan Shankar, because her daughter fall in love with him, and his daughter also committed suicide. Finally with lots of drama and fights Raj Aryan manages to convince Narayan Shankar. Finally Raj Aryan takes the charge to teach lessons of love to the students of Gurukl.
Now tell me which are your top 5 favorite Bollywood movies and why ? Also I think using "All Time" in the title was not a great idea!
