Government is seriously thinking of banning all kind of exit and opinion polls ahead of assembly election is six states as it feels such polls affects peoples opinion, specially if the polling is done in phases.
Its been a very long time since TV channels are showing exit polls (almost everyone has its own) as they are quiet a crowd puller even though historically the predictions made by such exit polls have far from being correct.
The cabinet has the support of all major parties like BJP, congress and left and the chances are that the ban may cover all kind of media, including print media.
