In order to obtain a visa the first and foremost requirement is to have a valid passport, which is issued by Government of India from Passport Offices. To obtain a passport, you can apply to any passport office in or near your city. It can take at least one month for you to get the passport. If you want it fast, use express method which will cost you Rs 2000 (as compared to 1k for regular passport application)

Once you have a valid passport, you are eligible to obtain a Visa to travel abroad.

There are various types of Visa's that is issued by the embassy or consulate of the respective country e.g. Tourist Visa, Students Visa, Business Visa etc. To apply for visa normally you need following:

• Original and Valid passport (must be valid till you plan to stay in the country you are visiting).
• Two passport size photographs.
• Supporting documents, depending on the type of visa you are applying for.
• Duly filled visa application form and receipt of visa fee paid

Student Via to study in USA, Australia or in Europe

• While applying for a student visa, you have to produce all required original documents to the consulate officials.
• You have to show that you have enough funding sources available for your stay in USA and you will be able to pay your expenses during your stay in USA. You may show your parent’s employment details, bank statements, and sponsorship letters in case an institution or a company etc sponsors you.
• Consulate officials may ask you a few questions and you should be ready to answer those satisfactorily. If you are not fluent in English, please take an interpreter with you who will assist you understand the questions and convey your answers to the officials.
• Never provide false information, to obtain a VISA, this may result in major problems during your stay in US.

Tourist VISA

• Getting a tourist visa is easier than any other visa. Submit your VISA application to the Embassy or consulate office of the country you wish to visit.
• Produce valid documentation to ensure you have sufficient funding available as per your tour plan.
• Normally a tourist visa is for smaller duration and it can be extended till six months (depending on the country your are visiting).
• You may have to show your return plan and tickets as well.
