Today the weakened Rupee crossed the 44 mark as compared to US Dollar.
This has been caused due to high number of FIIs selling rupee and buying dollars. This is happening for the past 15 to 20 days now and rupee is further expected to decline more.
Falling rupee is certainly a good news for exporters and IT companies who were under pressure after US slowdown. Yesterday there was a news that Satyam has delayed new recruitment.

Delhi high court has issues show cause notice to Sports channel Ten sports for not sharing feed with DD for Indian SriLanka one day matches.
It is worth noting that all the channels who are telecasting One day and 20-20 matches involving India have to share the live feed with State sponsored Doordarshan.

After the good response of his black magic horror file Phoonk Ram Gopal varma has said he would like to make Phoonk 2 as well. The sequel will have same stars and the story will start from where the first part had ended.
In an interview to NDTV, Ramu said that the idea for phoonk came while watching a TV program on black magic.

In a meeting held at IIT Kharagpur, the resprestantives of IITs felt to change the way JEE cutoffs were decided in the past 2 years.
In 2007 and 2008, the people who scored atleast 80% percent in all the subjects were shortlisted and than people with combined highest aggregate were called. Now as per an official, the cut off may get higher.

The axe effect deodorant advertisement of a chocolate boy (see image) has been banned by Information and Broadcasting ministry of India for being offensive. In the ad, a boy made of chocolate was chased by girls and in one scene, a girl was shown taking bite of its backside (most likely this has caused the problem as the rest of the ad looks alright).

Due to global slowdown and specially in the budget cuts in US tech companies, Satyam Infotech, India's fourth largest it services company has put on hold few thousand of 7500 freshers who were offered jobs.
After many delays, it has been reported that the dates of joining now are going to be in the first week of September.

India has "Surprisingly" beaten Sri Lanka in the 3rd ODI and has taken a lead of 2-1 with 2 matches still to play. Indian bowlers bowled exceptionally well reducing sri lanka to 6 for 59. Late order resistance and Mahela Jayawardene's 94 (111 balls) game them some hope but it was way too late. Sri Lanka bowled out for 204. Zaheer and Munaf patel took 3 wickets each with Praveen kumar taking 2 wicket.
Earlier, again Indian batsmen struggled in the first half of the inning before dhoni with Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma helped India to reach 237 in 50 Overs. Dhoni played the anchor role and got out in 49th over after making 76 in 80 Balls. Raina made 53 and Rohit Sharma made 32. Though India's nemesis Mendis did got 3 wicket but he conceded 56 Runs.
