After my Mp3 players review, this is second in series and is on Printers.

Selecting a printer is always a tough decision(at least I found it) :) . I think Printer selection depends on various things. First you need to identify your requirement and then select the type of printer for your use. You have a wide range of Inkjet and laser printers from many reputed manufacturers. Most popular manufacturers are HP, Cannon, Kodak, Epson etc. So what I am doing is I am putting reviews of some of the best Printers. The review is not India specific this time and that's why I have put the rates in USD. Please check the respective sites to know more about the models. Continue reading...

First of all, if you are not having Broadband connection and planning to get one, than read this article on Indian Broadband providers. :)

Ok, suddenly yesterday night at 12, My internet stopped working. All the pages started getting redirected to Tata Indicom Broadband's website saying I have insufficient balance which is nonsense since I just paid 3 weeks back for a 3 months unlimited plan. So in the morning I called them, the person asked me for my account ID to check if I have sufficient balance, which I was having. Than asked me take the main plug out and again insert which didn't worked. He asked me whether the DSL line is working or not, which was not working, so told me again restart everything and keep the button in Line Mode instead of loop mode as loop is for testing only.

In this article I am going to cover various popular Mp3 players available in the market. Now since I don't own a mp3 player I won't be able to give any personal inputs like I had given in How to Buy Online Shares in India, Best Broadband provider in India and Which Bike to Buy but I have put thorough research into it so I hope it will come out good. In India, the cost of mp3 players varies a lot in terms of quality of the product.

The sole reason of mp3 being so popular format is because of the advantage of portability. You can easily download the MP3 files and share them across with your friends as attachments to email etc. The Digital Audio product manufacturers realized the importance of playing MP3 music on their equipment, resulting in very innovative MP3 players in the market.

Swift number are the codes for all the bank branches of the world who are willing to participate in inter transaction of money. So for example if you want to send money to India and you are in USA than for doing  wire  transfer you will be required Swift number of that bank to which you want to transfer. Now you can easily go this website http://www.swift.com/biconline/ and just enter the bank name(say ICICI), City and Nation and you will get the codes. Please note that they don't have all the records in there database.

Although I will personally still suggest you to recheck the code with your bank. After all it is a matter of money ;)

This was the second article after How to make Online Railway reservation which I had started writing down weeks back but only got time to post it now :) Anyway first a quick News Flash - Yesterday on 23rd of August, Nokia had said that India has become second largest consumer of Nokia phones after China displacing US and UK, which I feels is a huge thing and carries lot of weight. :)

Anyway now back to Second Hand Mobiles. India has a huge gray market for stolen mobile handsets or pirated sets. There are many markets in almost every city where you can find people/shops selling them openly. Now I am not at all endorsing or promoting mobiles from gray market but in case if you have decided that you are going to buy a second hand mobile set than here are my advices to you(these are for second hand mobiles but can also be put on buying stolen mobiles).

I am covering a series of Howto's on India, and after How to buy Online Shares in India, Best Broadband Providers in India, Which Motorcycle to buy this is the next article on How to make Online Railway Reservation in India. Online reservation is still new for most of the Indians so I felt to cover this topic :)

Now Traveling using the Indian railway system will require reservations(unless you have decided to travel in second class where humans are treated like cattles, actually even worse). In India, All ticket reservations are done through a computerized system to make booking easier. Bookings open months in advance(2 months) so you have more than enough time to reserve your ticket, however, it is important to book your reservations as far ahead of time as possible since trains are very busy and tend to get booked out weeks ahead of the scheduled travel time. (Summer time is just crazy time, I have seen waiting for 500 in Pushpak Express which connects mumbai to Lucknow!)

It has been some time (more than a month now) since I am thinking of buying shares online but not getting enough courage to do it. BSE has lost more than 1000 points last week which is not helping me either :) Anyway I had talked to ICICI people and some other friends of how I can do online stock trading and they gave me option of either buying SIP's or buy Mutual Funds. Anyway from whatever I have known, here are few ways of doing online stock trading and buying stocks in India. There are many more ways which I will add in the article in a day or so. Don't forget to bookmark the article.

But first an advice - Investing and getting involved with the stock market is a good way to earn and make your money grow. Trading stocks can be a very profitable endeavor; however, it can also lead to big losses. It is always best to know what you are doing before investing and trading online. So here are a few steps on how to buy shares online. Continue reading...

So keeping the product reviews articles continued, after covering Broadband providers in India, this article is about various DVD players available in India. Now though I don't own a DVD player(I watch everything on my PC only, I even don't own a TV!) :D

We all are going to agree that Movie watching experience is alot different with DVDs as compared to watching them on TV or on PC as the DVDs offer high quality. Earlier systems were not intelligent enough to start the movie from where it was interrupted or stopped. The latest DVD players remember the position / scene where the DVD stopped due to power failure or otherwise. There are many reputed manufacturers who offer excellent DVD players. One can select a DVD player of their choice.

Before I compare all the broadband service providers of India, here is a little personal experience(it is more like rant) about my Broadband Connection. I am having Tata Indicom unlimited(?) Broadband(?) connection(?). :) Anyway I had to pay Rs 2804 for a 3 month connection of 128 Kbps (effective maximum speed is 20KBps) including installation charges. Though as promised of 2 days, they took almost 10 days and 15 calls to make the installation, which is just 10 minute work! Anyway so far it is working alright! Sometimes it gets connection failure for 10-20 minutes but otherwise it is OK. And From my past experiences, I can safely so do NOT take Sify unless you have no other option. Now here is my review of BIG Broadband service providers in India - :)
So Broadband has come a long way(remember those 56Kbps modems) and the scene is no different in India with many Internet Service providers (ISPs) offering Broadband Internet connectivity. Either be it for personal use or for small & medium enterprises, broadband is a very effective way to connect to Internet. Home users are best benefited as they can have better internet connectivity through broadband and they can do away with their old dialup modems which used to give a connectivity of 56kbps, as broadband gives above 256kbps for homes(BSNL and some others are also providing 2Mbps on some offers!).

The main players providing Broadband in India are Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Airtel, Reliance, Sify, Tata Indicom, Hathway, MTNL , Icenet etc. There are many companies who have local presence but these are the main players.

This is one of the first review of the series of reviews which I am going to do of various products available in India. This is on Motor Bikes. Gone were the days when people used to drive Bajaj Super and LML Vespa :) Now days almost everyone has shifted to motorcycles and only uncles drive Scooters now(as said by one of my friend!) :)

So you got your first pay cheque and want to buy a Motorcycle for yourself. Or your son is finding it inconvenient to go to college in public transport and auto-rickshaws and you want to present him with a bike. And, in India, you have a great choice. You can select many models as below from the manufacturers like: Bajaj Auto, Hero Honda, TVS, Suzuki, LML, Yamaha, Kinetic, Royal Enfield etc. How do you identify the best bike? Is the best bike in the market the right bike for you?
