Cast: Anupam Kher, Om Puri, Sonia Mehra
Direction: Anant Mahadevan

It’s a remake again of the ‘70s popular thriller. The earlier one was a great hit, which included Pran and Ashok Kumar in hilarious blasting roles and Saira Banu in a seductive role.

Anupam Kher and Om Puri star the new movie in the two roles earlier done by Ahsok Kumar and Pran. The story goes like this-

A family owns a diamond of 100 crores. Bad guy Bobby Bombata (Javed Jaffrey) and his girlfriend Devyani (Preeti Jhangiani) gets the diamond stolen by a girl Tora (Tora Khasgir) hired by Bobby’s henchman Ranjit (Kamal Sadanah). Tora succeeds in stealing but tries to get it for herself. She hides the diamond in a horse carriage Victoria No. 203 before she was followed and stabbed. She leaves some trails before dying.

Now, Raja (Anupam Kher) and Rana (Om Puri) arrives in the scene. They are two small time goons. They find out the clues, which lead them to the Victoria No. 203. In the movie comes to other characters – the rider’s daughter Sara (Sonia Mehra) and undercover cop Jimmy Joseph (Jimmy Sheirgill).

Though there was much scope but the films fails to deliver. It may be because of too much expectation and comparison to the older successful version. It may also because of the fact that the screenplay and direction was not up to the mark.
